These beautiful little flowers gave me such great spring or early summer feeling! They grow in shade of big spruces but they really lit up their surroundings.
They were so wonderful that I decided to shoot plants more from now on. I have two wonderful Voigtländer lenses for close-up work. CV40 (40mm/f2.0) is really great when you want to include some more background and habitat in plant close-ups. CV90 (90mm/f3.5), which I used for the above shot, is sweet for tighter close-ups. Both of these lenses have also special close-up lenses which you can attach to them and get greater magnification ratios, 1:4 for CV40 and 1:1.8 for CV90.
Sometimes it sucks to be a kickbiker – and a photographer. 🙂
Spring time is finally here! I just love those light green tones in the foliage. It is so nice to observe the nature to awake from winter’s hibernation. We really have to try to enjoy this because it will last so short time here.
Säätytalo, The House of the Estates, Helsinki.
I was giving a scientific presentation about effects of magnetic fields on oxidative stress there.

We still have quite much snow but days are warming up and it really feels spring. Nights can be still very cold though which slow down the melting process.
Today is Finnish parliamentary election day and we went to the voting locale by bike. It was a nice little trip boys traveling in their bike cart.
Mud flying in the air and muddy clothes are a real sign that the spring has started! Our boys are taking all fun out of puddles and muddy water. It is so much fun to spalsh it everywhere and drive the toy truck through it in full power.

Signs of spring are in the air (or road)! Driveway is almost free of snow now. All other places in our yard are still very white but we can see slow process here. Well, this is already a T-shirt weather for the Finns!
As we are now having some plus degrees, snow is melting. Well, we have so much snow that our boys are able to use their sleds still but now I feel that spring is really approaching. It is a great feeling; sun is shining and my mood is high!
