Spring brings the light!

I just love the spring light! It really gives boost to nature and its light green colors. It is quite short time though, so, enjoy while it lasts.

These pics are taken at our yard. Birch trees are so Finnish.

Spring light II

Clouds and greenery

White clouds, blue sky, light green forest. Really a Finnish spring.

It was so stunning combo with nice light to lit the forest. Clouds were spectacular and thunder storm was approaching us. Soon after shooting this we had to run back to the summer cottage because a heavy rain started.

Family hike to the laavu

We made a great hike to our village’s laavu. It is quite near our home so it is perfect with small children as Kaapo and Tiitus. Nice place with beautiful forest and great view especilally from the laavu’s roof. Both boys were very thrilled about the hike and we will definitely go there again.

Info about laavu.

My family at 27 degrees Celsius

Finland was the warmest country in the Europe yesterday!

We have had very warm and sunny weather lately. It was so cold winter and the spring started so late that everyone has gone crazy now when sun shines and temperature is over 25 Celsius. We had many kinds of nice activities at home and at summer cottage. I hope this weather will last at least few days more.

No snow anymore!

Yesterday (May 11th) I checked our yard and didn’t find any snow. Wow, how cool is that! The yard is quite grey and brown though as you can see from the pic. No proper green grass yet but soon I have to take the lawnmower out.

Weather forecast has promised some very warm (even over +15 C) days for the rest of the week. Let’s enjoy!

Also the dogs feel the spring!

We have two crazy dogs. A border terrier Herkko and a miniature wire-haired dachshund Hiski. When the snow is gone and the spring starts they will be very avid ball players. They are not so young anymore but you really can’t see that when they are running like maniacs.

Playing like crazy

I love these dramatic clouds combined with some sunshine, ice, and fog! It was such a great scene. Ice are now gone and the water is free at that site. I really like that spring time is finally here.

Here is another shot where you can see the melting ice better:

After rain comes the sunshine

Now the spring has officially started! I have always counted crocuses as a real beginning of spring. They were very beautiful after a rain fall and I actually like them more when they are closed. We have still, however, some snow in our yard but I really hope all the white stuff will be gone in few days.
