How to proceed with X-Pro1?

Earlier I stated that X-Pro1 is a great B&W camera. And that is fully true. I have decided now that I will shoot in color with it though. Then I will have the possibility to choose between different post-processing options including the fantastic B&W presets by VSCO Film. But many times I want to have color shots too. Sometimes vibrant ones and sometimes with muted colors.

Another important thing to test more is X-Pro1's RAW files. Especially now that I have faster computer (see the post below) I feel that I should give a possibility for RAWs too. Earlier I have tested them only quite occasionally. I am actually quite exited about RAW shooting now. I have looked through many great shots processed from RAW files in Flickr and those were not having that “smearing” problem.

A photo of my sons at the end of this post because they just had their birthdays and it was Father's Day yesterday:

Processed in Snapseed

The shot below has been shot with Fuji X100 and was initially saved in my Aperture 3 library in my MacBook. In Aperture I saved some of the shots from that photo shoot in the photo stream in iCloud which is very handy way to get shots in your iOS devices (and vice versa of course). I opened this shot from the photo stream in my iPad and processed it in the very wonderful Snapseed app. I cropped it and adjusted color and contrast. Very handy indeed. I uploaded the final version in my Flickr stream straight from Snapseed. And of course the final version was immediately also in my MacBook through iCloud. Fantastic.

Boys love snow

Our boys, Kaapo and Tiitus, really love snow but this winter has not been very good in that respect. But now we have some and they enjoy.

Test post from Blogsy

Just a quick test using Blogsy for iPad to write a blog post here. This app seems to have very nice formatting tools and nice handy link to my Flickr account to attach photos here. Let’s try to include one Christmas shot here:

We had combined birthday party for our boys today. They enjoyed so much and it was very nice to meet some friends and relatives.

Too many things to do

I have to say that I have neglected photography lately. I’ve been too busy all the time. I think I should try to use my iPhone more in situations like this because iPhone is always with me and it is capable in taking nice shots.

My wife started in her job again (she is a midwife in university hospital) after three years at home. Her work is in three shifts so this is sometimes little bit demanding situation with Kaapo’s pre-school and Tiitus’ child-care.

Tomorrow we are celebrating Kaapo’s and Tiitus’ combined birthday parties. Kaapo will be 6 and Tiitus 3 years old.

Now we can iMessage

My wife got iPhone few days ago. I remember some five years ago when we were about the purchase our first shared iMac and she was very much against changing from PC to Mac. Now she is a real Mac advocate and I am very proud of her. She is always recommending Macs and other Apple products to her friends.

Leaves, leaves, leaves

Soon they’ll throw snowballs! We have already had some minus degrees (C) in the night time and some mornings have been quite “crispy”. Haven’t had so much time for photographing that I’d wanted though.
